Uzabase, Inc. will merge with its wholly-owned subsidiary NewsPicks, Inc., effective July 1, 2023.
Business social media service NewsPicks was launched in 2013 as one of the businesses of Uzabase, Inc. and was subsequently incorporated as NewsPicks, Inc. in 2015.
Uzabase and NewsPicks have now entered into a merger agreement, effective July 1, 2023.
The merger is expected to enable more efficient organizational management and increase the value delivered to users by NewsPicks and the Uzabase Group on the whole, as well as improve Group-level productivity and profitability.
Following the merger, the NewsPicks business management policy will remain unchanged, while Uzabase will continue to ensure editorial independence of NewsPicks by separating its management and editorial operations in order for NewsPicks to maintain and evolve the quality of its services provided to subscribers.
NewsPicks is a Japanese business social media service that distributes original articles and video programs, as well as news contents from over 100 media outlets based in Japan and around the world, such as The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. It also offers a variety of seasonal business conferences and communities that dive deep into hot business topics. Users can gain a multifaceted understanding of news through comments posted by renowned figures and experts in various industries.
